The Convention Center Apartment is a modern English-basement style one-bedroom unit, approximately 1000 square feet in size, which occupies the entire lower level of the building, with private front and rear entrances.
While the apartment is convenient for visitors to the Washington DC Convention Center, anyone visiting DC will appreciate its close proximity to tourist sites, shops, and public transportation. It is less than a mile to the White House, the FBI, the National Archives, and the Natural History Museum, and about 1.25 miles to the US Capitol and Union Station.
Our home, 1242 Tenth Street NW, is set in a neighborhood of mostly Victorian residences, located just north of Massachusetts Avenue, NW. The brick and stone house was built in 1892, one of four row houses built by a single developer during the boom years at the end of the Nineteenth Century. Many of the houses in the area, and particularly those surrounding Logan Circle to the northwest, are mid- to late Victorians. Many have been carefully restored as single family homes and others have been subdivided into 3 or 4 condos that are quite desirable residences.
The neighborhood is the first residential neighborhood north of downtown DC. This vibrant neighborhood is attractive, historic, and offers the visitor many amenities, as well as easy access to the many tourist and meeting sites in our nation's capital.
